1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy describes how the Ziya mobile application (“Ziya”, “we”, “us”) handles information. Ziya helps anglers log fishing grounds, spots, casts, catches, baits, weather notes, and optional local community posts on Pier Wharf.
2. Local-first design
Ziya stores journal data on your device (for example under the app’s Documents area). We do not operate a Ziya account system that syncs your catchbook to our servers as part of normal use.
- Fishing grounds, spots, casts, catches, baits, and related notes
- Photos and voice notes you attach
- Local Pier Wharf posts, favorites, mutes, and report records kept on device
- App preferences such as display name, coin balance metadata, and reminder settings
If you delete the app or clear all data from within Ziya, local journal content may be permanently removed and cannot be recovered by us.
3. Information you provide
Content you create
Species names, release notes, spot bearings/distances, cast timelines, weather slips, and similar entries are created by you and stored locally. We do not require personal identity documents to use the journal features.
Optional profile labels
You may set a display name and handle used for local Pier Wharf posts on your device. These labels are not verified identities.
4. Device permissions
Ziya may request access only when you use the related feature:
- Camera — to capture catch or spot photos
- Photo Library — to choose existing photos or save exports
- Microphone — to record optional cast voice notes
- Notifications — optional tide-window or spot reminders
You can deny or revoke permissions in iOS Settings. Features that need a denied permission will simply be unavailable.
5. Purchases and coins
Ziya may offer in-app purchases (for example coin packs or capacity). Purchase processing is handled by Apple. We receive purchase validation results needed to unlock the purchased benefits on your device. Apple’s privacy terms also apply to payment processing.
6. Analytics, advertising, and tracking
Ziya’s core fishing journal is local. If App Tracking Transparency is presented on your device, any tracking request is optional and follows Apple’s system prompt. We do not sell your personal information.
7. Sharing
We do not sell your catchbook content. Sharing happens only when you initiate it, for example:
- Exporting a trip PDF, catch card, or photo through the iOS share sheet
- Saving a photo to your library
- Creating a local Pier Wharf post snapshot on your device
8. Data retention
Local data remains until you delete it in-app, remove specific items, clear all data, or delete the app. Exported files you save outside Ziya are under your control.
9. Children
Ziya is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). Do not use the app if you are under the applicable age.
10. International users
Because data is primarily stored on your device, processing generally occurs on that device. If you contact support by email, the message contents are processed to respond to your request.
11. Changes
We may update this Policy as Ziya evolves. The “Effective” date above will change when we publish updates. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
