Getting started
- Add a fishing ground from Radar (
+ Ground). - Add at least one spot with bearing and distance (
+ Spot). - Start a Cast, then log catches while fishing.
A ground needs spots before Cast can start. While a cast is active, ground switching is locked.
Common questions
Where is my data stored?
On your iPhone. Ziya is local-first. Clearing all data or deleting the app removes local journal content. Exports you save outside the app remain yours.
Camera or photo picker freezes / photo does not save
- Check Settings → Ziya → Camera / Photos are allowed.
- Force-quit Ziya and retry.
- Try Photo Library if Camera fails (or the reverse).
- If it still fails, email us with your iOS version and whether Camera or Library was used.
Spots missing on Spots or Radar
- Confirm the spot belongs to a fishing ground.
- On Radar, select that ground in the chip row.
- Bearing (0–360°) and distance (> 0 m) are required so the radar ring can place the spot.
Coins or purchases
- Open Me → Wallet to top up.
- If a purchase succeeded in Apple but coins are missing, wait a moment, relaunch Ziya, then contact support with the Apple receipt time.
- Restore / repurchase handling follows Apple’s standard In-App Purchase flow.
Tide reminders
Enable notifications when prompted, or in Settings → Ziya → Notifications. Global tide window settings live under Me; per-spot reminders can be set on a spot.

Posts are local snapshots on your device. Editing a catch later does not rewrite an already published post photo. Use Hidden & Muted in Me for muted authors and related safety tools.
Diagnostics checklist
